Job description


The main purpose of this job is to maximise the growth of Amnesty International Taiwan in terms of income, members and supporters.


Your role is to attract members and supporters to provide funding to enable the continuing work of Amnesty International as a defender of human rights in Taiwan and abroad. You will be responsible for all membership development and fundraising activity conducted on behalf of the organisation. As Fundraising and Development Manager you will build and lead the Fundraising and Development Team, and you will work closely together with other members of the staff at Amnesty International Taiwan as well as counterparts in the International Secretariat.

Essential requirements
• Has a genuine and enthusiastic commitment to the work of Amnesty International
• Has substantial experience in either fundraising or direct marketing to consumers
• Demonstrates excellent organizational, management and communication skills
• Is able to think quickly and flexibly in order to achieve targets
• Has strong understanding of the local market
• Has excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in Mandarin (and ideally also in other Taiwanese languages)
• Has excellent English language skills
• Has the ability to lead a team and manage and develop staff
• Is a confident user of computer applications and databases
• Thinks strategically
• Possesses excellent interpersonal and networking skills
• Has a flexible approach and is willing to work outside of core hours and away from home when necessary, including occasional international travel

 

Desirable qualifications
• Has proven record of fundraising
• Has substantial experience managing and developing staff
• Has experience of contracting and managing supplier agencies

 

Key duties and responsibilities


➢ Fundraising
• Design and implement short-and long- term growth and fundraising plans for Amnesty International Taiwan, including individual donor recruitment, retention and development strategies
• Developing or adapting messages, images, etc., in order to motivate, inspire and engage potential supporters into action on behalf of Amnesty International
• Build effective partnerships with contracted supplier agencies and oversee all aspects of their work on behalf of Amnesty
• Train and supervise direct dialog recruitment teams
• Ensure the monitoring and analysis of fundraising activities against agreed targets.
• Systematically develop ways to integrate fundraising into the campaigning, activist and media aspects of Amnesty International Taiwan's work
• Establish and manage an effective centralized supporter management system capable of supporting integrated mobilization of activism and resources
• To research and identify new fundraising opportunities and develop appropriate strategies for each
• Ensure that fundraising activities are organized in order to reflect the values of Amnesty International

 

➢ Financial Management

• Manage the fundraising expenditure budget of Amnesty International Taiwan and identify funding needs.
• Take overall responsibility for administration of donor transactions.
• Ensure good financial management practices and regular financial reporting.

 

➢ Team leadership and management
• Train and support the members of the fundraising and development team.
• Conduct performance analysis of the fundraising and development program in order to assess efficiency and effectiveness
• Undertake other duties as required to ensure the proper functioning of the team
