上週六的強迫遣返凸顯寮國苗族尋求庇護者和在泰國難民的困境。
本案無須進一步行動，但國際特赦組織將繼續透過緊急網路
面臨困境的156名已被認定為難民者，大約半數是孩童

The topic this month is asylum law and we have a great meeting lined up. Rajeev will be giving a brief presentation on his work at a Los Angeles law firm specializing in asylum cases. We will also be having a guest speaker, Khedroob Thondup, an ex-member of the Tibetan Pariliament in Exile and president of the Tibetan Refugee Help Center.

好消息！UA 120/07伊朗 宴會被捕者獲釋

5月10日在伊朗中部Esfahan省一處私人宴會，被捕的17人，至少有16人已經獲釋。
12人在被捕後兩週獲釋，剩下5人中的4人於5月29日獲釋。這些人都得交保釋金，預定在6月接受審判。第五人是否獲釋依然不明。
宴會中有87人被捕，其中60人無條件獲釋，其餘26人，包括上述17人，都交保獲釋。 這17人據信因為身穿被視為女人的衣服而被捕。據信他們無法連絡律師或家人。據稱一位法官說仍被拘禁者將會被控以消耗酒品和「同性戀行為」 (hamjensgarai)。國際特赦組織不知有何證據顯示，這些參加宴會者自稱為同性戀或從事同性性關係。他們被捕，正逢伊朗當局加強管制儀容。
目擊逮捕行動的證人形容參加宴會的人，遭警察和Basij 部隊（附屬革命警衛隊的自願民兵）拖到街上痛毆，造成瘀傷，有些人骨折。被拘禁者是否獲得就醫，無從得知。
國際特赦組織將繼續監督情況，若有需要，將採取進一步行動。
